At Mighty Flame Propane Cylinder Exchange, we’re gearing up for the Fourth of July. Can you believe that it’s already just two short weeks away? Well, as the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun, and we’ve certainly been enjoying ourselves recently.
If you’ve been following along with our blogs for any amount of time, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve been writing ultimate guides for how to grill burgers, steaks, and chicken. (If you missed out, head on over to our blog archive and take a look for yourself!) We have more of these guides in the works, but for the time being, we thought we’d take a little break to write about America’s favorite holiday which is already right around the corner.
If you like the cut of our jib, so to speak, in our recent posts, we’d like to offer some grilling tips specifically designed to ensure that you, oh barbecuer, have a blast on Independence Day. Wondering how you can be certain that you’ll have a great time? Keep reading to find out!
How to Make the Most of Your Fourth of July Barbecue
Come Up With a Plan for the Whole Day
One of the best things you can do is to write out a list of everything you’d like to accomplish on the day of the barbecue. The Fourth of July is known for being pretty action packed, so, for example, make sure that you know when the parade starts (and how early you’ll need to arrive in order to actually be able to see), what time your guests are arriving, and when your community plans to start their fireworks show.
Now obviously you don’t have to account for every single detail of the day because for many, it’s all about creating a relaxing atmosphere and enjoying an extra day off of work, which just so happens to be in the middle of the week this year. Hey, we won’t argue with two days of work, a one day weekend, two more days of work, and then a regular weekend to start the summer off right!
All we’re saying is that if you have a pretty good idea of how things will unfold over the course of the day, you’ll be accordingly prepared. Why not set yourself up for success, right?
Make Sure You Get to Eat
As confounding as it is, this is something we’ve experienced ourselves during big cookouts. If you’re the one manning the grill, it’s easy to forget that you need to eat as well. Being singularly focused on making sure everything comes out right is no simple task.
And, of course, with different people showing up at different times, you want to make sure your new guests have food available to them right around the time that they arrive. That means that you’ll probably be busy for most of the day. It doesn’t mean that you won’t be having fun, catching up with friends, or enjoying a cold drink, but it does mean that there are a lot of distractions.
The best advice you’ll get on the matter is to remember to set a burger aside for yourself. You’re the one who went to the effort to craft such a great menu full of so many awesome foods that you deserve the spoils of your labor.
Try a New Spin on an Old Favorite
Another tip for making your party a success is to try something fresh. That doesn’t mean that you can’t have burgers and brats at your Fourth of July party! What we’re suggesting is that you think of an interesting take on a classic.
It doesn’t have to be anything mindblowingly extraordinary either; having some bacon on hand in addition to a bowl of guacamole will allow people to craft their own guacamole bacon burgers. A unique homemade burger seasoning can even be enough to get people talking.
All we’re saying here is to think outside the box a little bit and think of a few different ways to offer a unique experience to your guests. If you do things just right, you’ll find that your barbecue is the talk of the town for weeks! And hey, who knows? Maybe you’ll find that your barbecue is the new golden standard and you can finally put your neighbor’s boasting about his “superior burger” to rest once and for all. Take that, Jerry!
