Get Ready for Grilling Season With These Great Ideas

Put Together a List of Easy Recipes to Grill

It can be really easy to start idealizing summer barbecues, but the truth of the matter is that eating well does take some planning. Sure, you can always toss a few burgers on the grill and end up with something delicious, but if you really want your meals to leave you smiling and satisfied, it’s in your best interest to find different grilling ideas now. There are plenty of easy foods to grill, so take this time to arm yourself with a collection of recipes that you’ll turn to when you need some inspiration.

Our blog archive is a great place if you’re looking for recipes because we’ve shared plenty of easy recipes for the grill that are big on flavor.

Create an Emergency Supply of Steak Rub for Grilling

If you’ve been following along with our blog for any amount of time, you’ve probably seen us advocate for salt and pepper as the go-to seasoning that you need for your steak. It’s certainly true that if you get a good cut of meat from your local butcher, it doesn’t need much help to taste great. Simply following the suggestion to remove your steaks from the fridge an hour before you grill and season them with salt and pepper on both sides is still our default.

But what about when you have to settle for a cut of meat that you just know isn’t going to be as good? Or what about the times that you’re going to want something a little bit out of the ordinary? Having a steak rub for grilling that’s just ever so slightly different than what you usually use can sometimes be enough to take a meal to the next level. Fortunately for you, we have you covered with a few tips to make sure that your steak tastes great thanks to homemade seasonings that you can easily store in your pantry for later use.

Make Sure You Have the Right Barbecue Grill Accessories

This is another topic that we’ve touched on in the past, but we believe that there’s always a right tool for the job. In many instances, companies are going to try to sell you a 30-piece kit, but the truth is that you really don’t need that many accessories to grill up a storm.

As a matter of fact, we believe that as long as you have a functioning grill brush, a spatula, a pair of tongs, a meat thermometer, and a grill cover, you’re all set. Just a few accessories and you’re off to the races, friend. Don’t get suckered into buying something just because it has really good marketing or a really fancy logo. Instead, we’d advocate for finding high quality items that are going to stand the test of time. There are enough things in this life that fall under the category of planned obsolescence, but in our humble opinion, grill accessories shouldn’t be one of them. It’s like your grandpa always used to say. “Buy it nice or buy it twice.” We couldn’t agree more. Find the right accessories and they’re likely to last a lifetime.
