At Mighty Flame Propane Cylinder Exchange there’s nothing we love more than sharing grilling tips, tricks, recipes, and ideas. As it turns out, today’s post is all about how you can take care of your grill and get plenty of use out of it for many years to come.

Although doing a deep clean on your grill from time to time is a wise thing to do (we’ve written about cleaning your propane grill in a previous post, so be sure to take a look at that blog if you’re preparing to do a deep clean on your grill), you’ll set yourself up for many years of grilling enjoyment if you can tackle a few little things on a regular basis. If you’re looking for a few ways to get the most life out of your grill, the team at Mighty Flame is here to help!

Here are a few things you can do.

Invest in a Grill Cover

Simply covering your grill will go a long way towards extending its lifespan. You’d be surprised how much of a toll the elements can take on a grill, so even an inexpensive cover will make a huge difference. After all, you paid good money for your grill so you might as well protect it from rain, snow, and wind while you’re not using it. There’s nothing worse than a day where the wind blows dust onto your grill and a drizzle of rain makes it stick, so take care of your grill and it will stand the test of time (and look pretty darned good doing it)!

Clean the Outside From Time to Time

Simply spraying some cleaner on your grill and going over it with a paper towel every so often will keep your grill looking clean and shiny. This is an easy task to neglect, but getting rid of the grease that somehow accumulates on the outside of your grill from time to time will keep your grill looking great. With all of that beautiful stainless steel looking nice and shiny, you’ll be inclined to grill more often and that’s never a bad thing!

Scrape the Grates After Preheating Your Grill

One of the absolute best things you can do for your grill is to keep the grates clean. This is one task that people get wrong all too often and this, thankfully, is one instance where putting something off is probably going to be in your best interest. Our recommendation is to leave the cleaning until after your grill has been preheated, then scrape it off with a wire-bristled brush right before you throw your food on. It’s a win/win because it doesn’t get much easier than that!
