Here at Mighty Flame, we’re big fans of burgers. After all, when a burger is grilled just right, it’s one of the most perfect pieces of culinary beauty you’ll ever have the good pleasure of enjoying. The truth of the matter is that a classic burger will probably always hit the spot, but you may find yourself wanting to experiment a little bit at some point or another.

Not to worry, however, because we’re here to help! We always say that when you buy a propane tank, you unlock a world of culinary possibilities and we’re here to show you exactly how that applies to a burger. Whether you’re in the mood for something new or you just want to do a bit of experimenting to see what works for you, today’s blog is for you. Keep reading to see our favorite ideas!

Mix Things Up On Your Burger

Add Some Garlic

We’ll start with a suggestion that is easy to try with items that you already have on hand. All you have to do is very finely mince a few cloves of garlic and incorporate them into your ground beef. You are already pre-seasoning your ground beef with salt and pepper (you are doing this already, aren’t you?) so adding in this step is relatively simple to do, but you’re sure to love the results.

From there, grill up your burger as usual and enjoy the delicious garlic-y flavor that comes alongside of a little bit of extra effort. Add a slice of provolone cheese to the top and you have a match made in heaven. It really doesn’t get much better–or much simpler–than this.

Put the Cheese Inside the Patty

One other simple thing that you can try is to form your burger patty with the cheese in the middle. Admittedly, this isn’t a huge change to make but sometimes all you need is something that is just ever so slightly different to get yourself out of a rut.

Once again–like the garlic option–this is easy to do with what you already have. All you need to do is add cheese to the middle when you’re forming your patty, continue to shape it as usual, and then throw it on the grill. The end result is wonderful because it plays with your tastebuds a little thanks to the flavor of the cheese hitting them a little differently than it does when the cheese is melted on top. This is a winning combination and the perfect way to mix things up a little bit.

Try a Different Meat

On the other hand, let’s say you want to go all out and try something you’ve never considered before. If that’s the case, perhaps you could try swapping the ground beef out for ground turkey. Okay, that doesn’t sound particularly exciting yet, does it? Fortunately that’s not the end of our suggestion.

When you work with a different ground meat, you can reconsider your entire approach to making a good burger. For example, you could use ground chicken to make a burger, then top it with mozzarella, bacon, and ranch for a burger that is truly one of a kind. If you were to use the ground turkey, you could spread a bit of cranberry sauce on top and create a Thanksgiving themed burger. The possibilities are endless. All it takes is a bit of thinking outside of the box and brainstorming about what flavors might work well together. The sky is the limit, so get to it!
