You’ve Completed Your Propane Tank Purchase, Here are Your Next Steps
We know what you might be thinking. “It’s not summer yet…should I really be grilling right now?” The answer is a resounding yes! We’ve written a number of times about the benefits of grilling during winter and how to do it the right way, so feel free to browse our previous posts to learn all of the insider tips we have to offer on breaking out the propane grill even when it’s cold outside.
Spicy Grilled Beef Tenderloin
Go ahead and heat your grill to high heat. Rub your beef tenderloin with plenty of olive oil, salt and pepper, and garlic powder. The next step is to sear your beef tenderloin on all sides until you get a nice amount of caramelization. Plan for this to take about five minutes per side. Reduce your grill to medium-low heat and move your beef tenderloin to an area of the grill that isn’t directly heated to ensure the best flavor.
Depending on how rare you prefer your beef tenderloin, the cooking process can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. You’ll want to be sure that your tenderloin is cooked to at least 120 degrees in order to ensure that it’s safe to eat. Adjust your grill time accordingly to accommodate for the thickness of your tenderloin and your preference.
In the meantime, to start your sauce, fire up the top of your stove inside and melt plenty of butter. Saute one onion, a handful of jalapenos (we’ll leave how many you choose up to you depending on how much you enjoy jalapenos, but they do add a nice, pleasant spice), and red pepper flakes. Add salt and pepper to preference.
When your beef tenderloin is done, transfer it to a rack to cool. Brush on your spicy butter mixture and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
This meal goes perfectly with a little bit of spicy rice, your favorite baked (or grilled) potato recipe, or even some crusty bread with plenty of butter.
However you choose to complete your dish, we’re sure you’ll agree that it’s both easy to make and an absolute joy for your tastebuds!
