Simple Desserts for This Fourth of July
Two-Ingredient Pineapple Angel Food Cake
In summer, people generally yearn for something a little lighter than usual, and a delicious angel food cake is the perfect option. Combine it with pineapple and you have a huge hit on your hands! This recipe for Two-Ingredient Pineapple Angel Food Cake comes from the folks at Betty Crocker and it really doesn’t get much better than this.
Literally all you have to do is combine a box of angel food cake mix with a 20 oz can of crushed pineapples. Stir it together, bake it for 45 minutes, and you’re good to go. It’s as easy as that. You can make this dessert beforehand and set it aside until your guests arrive and it will still be just as delicious. Trust us when we say that after you’ve tried this recipe once, you’ll be keeping it in your repertoire of easy desserts to break out when you need something quick and simple.
Quick Whoopie Pies
This recipe from Midwest Living is another winner. All it takes is three ingredients and a few of your favorite soft cookies. It comes together quickly and easily, and it can also be prepared before your guests arrive. Just toss them in the fridge when you’re done making them and they’ll be ready to go whenever you need them!
The ingredients are cream cheese, butter, and marshmallow creme, and all you have to do is mix the cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer, then fold in the marshmallow creme. It’s easy and comes together beautifully.
They also feature a peanut butter variation that has you swap out the butter with peanut butter. This variation goes perfectly on peanut butter cookies, sugar cookies, and chocolate cookies alike. Whichever route you decide to take, you’re sure to have found a new favorite simple dessert to break out!
Grilled Fruit
It doesn’t get much simpler than this one, friends and neighbors. What’s your favorite fruit? Ever tried it on the grill? Whether you opt to grill some bananas, pineapples, watermelon, or something else entirely, trust us when we say that it comes alive in a very unique way when you throw it on the grill.
You can also add other little things to make your grilled fruit that much better. What do we mean by that, you ask? It’s simple! All you have to do to add a bit more flavor and variety is drizzle some honey over the top. Or, of course, you could serve your freshly grilled fruit with a bowl of vanilla ice cream for something totally unique! Even dusting a bit of cayenne pepper over the top will get the job done.
Whatever you choose to do, you can tailor your choices to suit your own specific needs and preferences. It might seem simple, but you can believe us when we say that it’s incredibly delicious and it allows you to get a bit creative, making it a win/win.
