Here at Mighty Flame, we pride ourselves on providing our readers with a veritable boatload of burger recipes. One of the questions we get asked the most is how we’re able to come up with such wild recipes that incorporate unique ingredients in such a way that everything comes together perfectly for a unique burger experience.

If you’re one of the people who has had that question while reading through our blogs, then you, dear friend, have found yourself in good fortune, because in today’s blog we’ll be bringing you a few tips and tricks that will allow you to make your own burger that rivals anything you could find at the best burger joint in town. “That’s not possible,” you might say. Well, dear friends and neighbors, keep reading, because not only are you soon to be armed with information and knowhow, but you’re also getting pretty darned close to sinking your teeth into your new favorite burger.

First Step: Buy Propane Tank

Everyone knows that the best burgers on the planet are cooked on a grill. Whether that grill ought to be a charcoal grill or a gas grill is debateable, and sure, we’ll admit that each option has some benefits in its favor. In our humble opinion, it’s pretty hard to beat the easy reliability of a good propane grill, though. Its ease of use makes for a great (and consistent) way to grill a great burger, so head out and buy a propane tank and fire up the grill, because you’re about to make something delicious.

Second Step: Brainstorming

We ask this question a lot, but it’s one we feel demands your careful consideration–what does the perfect burger look like to you? There are some things you might know you want to add right off the bat and, as GI Joe always said, knowing is half the battle. For example, if your ideal burger has cheese on it, then planning out a burger recipe needs to start with the cheese. Do you want to stick with an old standby like American cheese or would it behoove you to try something like brie?

If brie will do the trick, think about what pairs well with brie. Pears often accompany brie on a cheese plate, so perhaps you could try some grilled pear slices on your burger and top it with some nice, melty brie. And we’re off to the races!

Your goal is to simply let your mind wander. When you mind is all over the place, you might recall that you love grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. Why not make a grilled ham and cheese burger? Grill the slices of ham on your grill, butter your bun, and toss it all together for a burger that’s truly inspired by something else while also standing on its own. Either way, write your ideas down and start a list, because…

Third Step: Grab the Groceries

Now that you have an idea in mind, it’s time to head to the grocery store. This is your chance to further refine your idea. Perhaps you’ll find something that speaks to you and demands your culinary attention. Be sure to shop for high quality ingredients because they will certainly influence the overall taste of your burger and after all, if we’re not doing this because we want a great tasting burger, what is the point?

Of course you don’t have to go overboard and get the most expensive ingredients, but you should pay special attention to the value of the ingredients you are getting in order to be sure that you’re combining your love for culinary delights with your desire to be a frugal shopper.

Fourth (and Final) Step: Go Home and Go Big

Your next step, dear friends and neighbors, is to give it a try. In this step you’ll combine everything into a delightful burger that is likely to overwhelm your friends and family with pride regarding your grilling abilities and the depth of your palate. This is your chance to impress whether you’re cooking for a group or for yourself, so no matter what your recipe looks like, focus on making it the best you can make it.

When you finally fire up the grill and throw your slab of meat on it, you may be feeling nervousness over whether or not your burger will be any good. Dispel that notion from your head, because although there are sure to be some misfires (more on that in a sec), chances are that if it sounds good while you’re planning it, it will be even better in reality.

Of course you’ll also have to deal with some of the previously aforementioned missteps in your grilling adventures. If you end up with a burger that reminds you of a piece of hot garbage, don’t be discouraged. Even the finest chefs on the planet have had nights where they’ve had to toss out their meals and grab some fast food. Mistakes can happen and some dishes just won’t come together how you think they will. That’s okay, friend. Soldier on, because the ones that turn out make the experimentation more than worth it in the long run, and you can take that bit of advice to the bank. The burger bank.

Burgers don’t HAVE to be made of ground beef.

Wondering Where to Buy a Propane Tank?

We would be remiss if we didn’t answer another common question–”where can I buy a propane tank?” Great questions demand great answers and Mighty Flame has you covered. With numerous propane tank exchange locations all across the Eastern United States (and more opening up all the time), a great propane tank is always right around the corner.

So put on your thinking caps and start the brainstorming process. Whether you come up with a new family favorite or a themed burger that you make once a year, we’re sure your efforts will be worth it when you take a bite out of a burger that just flat out rocks your world. And best of all is the fact that you’re the author of that burger, proving once and for all that the world’s best burgers have yet to be made.

Of course if you’ve made a burger that you have to share with the world, feel free to let us know. We’d love nothing more than to give it a try whether it’s sweet, savory, spicy, or anything in between. From our team to yours, we sincerely hope that you’ve enjoyed this blog and that you’re inspired to get out there and grill up a storm. Speaking of which…we’re off to grill up that pear and brie burger. Until next time, friends and neighbors!
