Propane Tank Purchase: Check
Once you buy a propane tank, it’s time to get started. Today’s recipe is designed to be a little bit zesty, but as with all of our recipes, if you prefer a flavor that’s a bit milder, feel free to adjust the level of spiciness to your liking or do away with it all together if that suits you better. Let’s get started, shall we?
Spicy Grilled Pork Chops
Is there anyone out there who doesn’t love a good pork chop? They’re flavorful, they’re tender, and if you follow today’s recipe, you’ll end up with a meal that’s sure to become a household staple that everyone asks you to make on a regular basis.
Start by creating your marinade. This one is as easy as it gets. In a resealable bag, combine a generous squeeze of honey, ¼ cup olive oil, a dash of apple cider vinegar, a dash of chili powder, and a dash of red pepper flakes. If you prefer things spicy, make those dashes big ones; if you like a bit of heat, but prefer to keep it a bit milder, make them smaller dashes. The key to getting the flavor you love is by adjusting the spices to your preference.
Next, take your bone-in pork chops and rub them down with plenty of salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder. The next part is incredibly easy- put your pork chops into the bag of marinade and let them sit for about an hour. Leaving them to absorb your marinade is vital to this recipe because the combination of honey and apple cider vinegar will work to break down the protein the pork chops, leaving you with an incredibly tender meat that almost falls off the bone. The combination of spices begins to be absorbed into the meat, ensuring a flavorful pork chop.
While you’re letting your porkchop marinate, whip up your favorite recipe for mashed potatoes, spicy rice, or anything else you enjoy eating with pork chops (apple sauce, anyone?). Heat your propane grill to medium heat.
When the temperature is right, grill your pork chops for 3-4 minutes on each side, ensuring you get nice grill marks and a beautiful crust. The goal should be to flip the pork chops around the time they start to naturally let go of the grill instead of sticking to it. That’s your key to getting the perfectly cooked pork chop. Adjust grill time depending on the thickness of your meat.
Serve and enjoy. It really is as simple as that!
