Once You Buy a Propane Tank, You Can Start Cooking Great Chicken!
We mentioned it above, but getting your chicken to come out perfectly is truly an art. Fortunately for you, it’s one that’s not hard to perfect if you know where to start.
What does the perfect grilled chicken look like to you? There’s a lot of room for different opinions, but the goal of this blog is to provide you with a few of the best rules of thumb in order to ensure that you end up with a meal that’s delicious.
First and foremost, you should make it a priority to get a decent thermometer to measure the temperature of your chicken. In order to maximize the amount of moisture you’re getting and minimize the risks associated with cooking chicken, you should make sure that your chicken is cooked to 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
From there, you can feel free to experiment a bit. Most people will agree that you’ll end up with a great piece of chicken if you make a marinade and let your chicken absorb some of that flavor and moisture. Common ingredients to add in a marinade include olive oil, salt and pepper, red pepper flakes, chili powder, hot sauce, honey, citrus juice (limes, lemons, and oranges work well), and even mustard. You can marinate your chicken for as little as a few hours or as long as overnight. Experiment and find what works best for you.
Whatever you use for your marinade, consider how your ingredients’ tastes will play off of each other. You’re the master of this dish, so put some thought into it and it will turn out great!
How long you actually cook will depend on the size of your chicken pieces, just make sure you shoot for 165 degrees like we mentioned above and you’ll be just fine.
Serve your chicken with anything that will complement your dish! Perhaps it’s a grilled mashed potato with butter and worcestershire sauce. Maybe it’s some steamed veggies. It could even be a slice of toast that when combined with your chicken makes for the perfect pulled chicken sandwich. It’s entirely up to you!
