How to Prepare for Grilling Season

Clean Your Grill

It’s not the type of thing that many people are truly passionate about, but it’s a task that needs done nonetheless. Hey, it’s spring cleaning season, after all. One of the best things you can do to get yourself ready for an entire season of grilling is to make sure you take the time to really clean your grill. Fortunately for you, we recently wrote a series on everything you need to know about cleaning your grill. You can find part one here and part two here.

Whether you have an idea of what to expect or you’ve never cleaned your grill before, our guide has everything you need to know to get it done safely and effectively. Trust us when we say that the future version of yourself will thank the version of you that cleans out the grill before grilling season is in full swing. Get it taken care of now and you’ll be all set for the foreseeable future! Not only will you be able to avoid frustrating flare ups, you will be all set with a clean and very usable working space. Future you will definitely thank the past you that read this article and decided to take its advice.

Create a Recipe Book

If you’re not quite ready to break your grill out, you should consider spending a bit of time creating a book of recipes that you’re looking forward to trying. Of course you’ll be grilling up burgers, brats, and hot dogs, but you’ll probably also want to try something new. Our recommendation is to grab yourself a notebook and start jotting down the recipes you’d like to try so they’re all together in one place. Don’t forget to write down where you got the recipe from in case you need to reference it later or would like to leave a review.

There are a number of really great websites that post amazing recipes, but you can also collect recipes from cookbooks or magazines, or from friends. You could even make it a point to write down a few of your current favorites in an effort to keep everything all in one place. Having a go-to book full of recipes to pick from will make grocery shopping that much easier and ensure that you always have something great to try just around the corner. At the end of the day, we believe that you’ll get plenty of use out of your own recipe book.

Buy a Propane Tank

Of course you could also make it a point to buy a propane tank now so you don’t have to worry about it a little ways down the road. Take a note from the Boy Scouts, ensuring that you’re always prepared to do a bit of grilling. You never know when the weather will suddenly warm up and you’ll be inspired to fire up the grill, after all.

“Okay, but where can I buy a propane tank?” you ask. Fortunately for you, we have a number of propane tank exchange locations so you can swing by whether you need to buy a fresh tank or swap out an empty one for a new one. Taking care of it now means you can focus on actually grilling when the time comes. It doesn’t get much better than that!
