Here at Mighty Flame, we believe that the best barbecues are the ones that have a little bit of thought behind them. In our previous blog, we provided readers with three of our best tips for hosting a successful backyard barbecue. Luckily for you, we have a few more tips to help you plan out a get together that will have everyone talking for weeks.
Whether you’re hosting a barbecue every other weekend or this is your first time having friends and family over, we think you’ll find our tips to be helpful when planning your event. So without further ado, let’s take a look at a few more tips for hosting an awesome get together over food and fun!
Don’t forget to buy a propane tank.
One thing we should mention before we get to our tips is that you’ll want to be sure you buy a propane tank beforehand if you think you’re getting low. After all, there’s nothing worse than running out of fuel halfway through your barbecue and having to run out and get more while people are getting anxious to chow down on burgers, brats, and hot dogs!
A Few Tips on Hosting an Awesome Barbecue from Mighty Flame
Consider the Shade
One thing you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of during your barbecue is shade. Although everyone loves a bit of fun in the sun, having a place to get out of the heat can make a huge difference to the success of your event. Whether you set up an outdoor tent or simply opt for a few covered picnic tables, you’ll want to be sure that your guests have a space to escape from the sun’s rays.
As a bonus bit of fun, you could set up a water slide or a pool for the kids to play in to make sure that the little ones who attend your barbecue aren’t overheating. Or you could lay out a handful of water guns (an idea that will no doubt lead to a high point of your day). Summer and water go hand in hand, after all. When you’re planning your event, be sure to include plenty of opportunities for shade and enough water to keep even the littlest ones happy and you’ll be setting yourself up for success.
Decide on a Theme
This tip isn’t strictly necessary, but it’s a great way to get everyone on the same page and in the same mindset. After all, if people don’t know what they’re expected to wear, they could end up being too hot or feel out of place. Common themes like luau’s are a great place to start, but you can feel free to get as creative as you like with a theme.
Or, if you prefer to keep things a little more minimal, you can specify on your invitation that guests can wear whatever they like. Shorts, flip flops, and tank tops can make for great barbecue attire, so just be sure your guests know what’s okay to wear.
Either way, you can unify your event by choosing to decorate using a theme of colors. For example, stick to blue cups and plates if that’s the color of your tent and you’ll be just fine.
Don’t Forget Dessert
No matter what you choose for dessert, it’s important to remember that in the summer, a tasty dessert is the perfect way to cap off an awesome barbecue! It could be as simple as grabbing a few gallons of ice cream or you could opt to buy a propane tank, fire the grill up, and make s’mores over the grill.
You don’t have to go overboard with dessert as long as you make sure your guests know it’s available to them. Don’t feel like you have enough time to grill and plan for a dessert? Ask your guests to bring a dessert to share and you’re all set!
It All Starts When You Buy a Propane Tank
At Mighty Flame, we believe that a great barbecue is a propane tank away. When you choose to provide your guests with a great meal, you’re on the road to a great time.
