You never know when someone will take a stroll through your alley, see a shiny grill, and decide that they’re taking it with them.
A grill cover will help more than you might think. Rather than seeing a big, expensive looking grill, people will see a discreet neutral cover. Sure, there is still a potential that someone will hop the fence and take a peek under the cover, but we have to imagine the risk goes down significantly when you use a grill cover.

Perhaps best of all, a grill cover is going to be relatively inexpensive. Head to a local store or check on Amazon and grab the one that you think will work best for your needs. Chances are that it won’t set you back too much, and if it does, it might be overkill. As we mentioned above, a grill cover is going to protect your grill from harsh weather. In other words, the cover itself will take the brunt of the damage.
What that means is that rather than having to replace your propane grill–which will likely cost you over a hundred dollars even for the thriftiest of options–you can replace an inexpensive grill cover every couple of years at most. A small investment now will save you a huge headache later and ensure that you get many years of enjoyment out of your grill. It’s a win/win no matter how you choose to look at things.
