If you’ve been searching for an easy food to grill, a good kabob is hard to beat! As summer starts to dissolve into fall, people all across the country are looking for ways to put their grills to good use before the busyness of fall sets in. Summer is often restful and relaxing as people enjoy more leisurely activities knowing that the sun will be setting later. But as the days start to get shorter and the wind brings with it a slight chill, people start the search for easy grilling ideas to maximize the time they’ll get to spend with their grills.
It just makes sense because as the kids head to swimming practice after school, do homework in the evenings, and have events planned on the weekends, parents are awfully busy as well! The good news is that the team at Mighty Flame has you covered if you’ve been wondering what to grill tonight that you can get done quickly and easily.
Kabobs are the ideal place to turn if you’re looking for new grilling ideas and you’re also interested in keeping it healthy. As a matter of fact, healthy grilling has literally never been easier. That’s why in today’s post we’ll be sharing three incredibly easy kabob recipes that you can throw on the grill. They’re easy, quick, healthy, and delicious, so keep reading to learn more!
Kabobs Make for Ideal Healthy Grilled Meals
Honey-Glazed Chicken Kabobs
This recipe for Honey-Glazed Chicken Kabobs from Taste of Home is a winner no matter how you look at it. As with many amazing recipes, the key to these kabobs is to let them marinate for awhile. Our recommendation is to prepare everything in the morning and then throw it all in the fridge until after work.
Once you get home, simply preheat the grill to medium heat, then grill your kabobs for five or so minutes per side. Keep the grill cover on for maximum deliciousness. The way the honey comes together with the rest of the ingredients is subtle but effective and we think you’ll enjoy it just as much as we did. Our recommendation is to serve this kabob with a side of white rice and a caesar salad. The flavors all come together perfectly into one of the most delicious meals you’re likely to have all week and we couldn’t recommend it more. Quick, easy, and healthy is pretty hard to beat, after all!
Barbecued Shrimp and Peach Kabobs
Looking for something a little bit out of the ordinary? While shrimp and peaches might not stick out as one of the most obvious food combinations it doesn’t mean that they can’t come together perfectly and this kabob recipe for Barbecued Shrimp and Peach Kabobs from the folks at Good Housekeeping is proof of that very idea. The best news with this recipe is that you don’t have to spend any time letting it marinate which means that as long as you have all of the ingredients on hand it will come together quickly and easily, and who doesn’t love that?
The combination of brown sugar, chile powder, paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper is wonderful and it somehow manages to perfectly complement both the shrimp and the peaches. These are so quick and easy to make that you could either make them as an appetizer to your main course or serve it with a little something else. Our recommendation for this dish is to serve it with a side of quick cooking quinoa and you have something truly spectacular on your hand that came together in mere minutes. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Italian Sausage and Provolone Skewers
We turn back to the good people at Taste of Home for this incredible recipe for Italian Sausage and Provolone Skewers. Just the title of that recipe makes our mouths water! The great thing about this recipe is that it’s just as good as it sounds. Another huge benefit to this kabob recipe (just like the one above) is that you don’t have to make a marinade for it. Simply gather the ingredients together, cut them into cubes, and skewer them up.
The combination of onion, sweet pepper, green pepper, tomatoes, and Italian sausage is really wonderful and grilling it for about 10 minutes or so ensures that the flavor gets brought out of everything in a really wonderful way. Once the kabobs are done, the recipe recommends threading cheese cubes onto each kabob. Serving the kabobs on their own is wonderful, but we decided to take things a step further.
We opted to make some angel hair pasta and top it with a bit of spicy marinara. This is wonderful on its own, of course, but adding the contents of your skewers takes it to a whole new level. Grill up a side of garlic bread and you’re in for a real treat! At the end of the day, how you serve these kabobs is entirely up to you, but one thing is for certain–it’s going to be one of your go-to recipes once you discover that this is one of the tastiest quick grilling ideas around.
